See What We Are Working On

Currently we are working on building a top notch energy analysis program. This program will be designed to pin point not only problems with your heating and air conditioning system, but also find underlying problems that may be the result of inadequate insulation, outside air infiltration, or even leaking duct work. These underlying problems can be causing those hot and cold rooms that are never comfortable or the excessive dust and allergy issues some of you may be experiencing. The cause of these problems has been hard to detect in the past, but now the technology is available for us to use to find these causes. These new technologies include a machine called a blower door that will pinpoint areas of infiltration of outside air that can cause high humidity, as well as excessive dust. An infrared camera will show us where hot air is coming into your living space from the attic, crawl space, through holes in the top of walls, around chimney chases, and through recessed light fixtures.

We have partnered with Comfort Institute to provide the best equipment and training for our employees to find and correct these problems. The Department of Energy studies show that more than 50% of the homes in the United States have problems with the thermal envelope of the home allowing outside air into the living space. They also report that a typical duct system, if it is not sealed, can lose 25 to 40 percent of the heating and cooling energy put out by a home's central system.
