You know how the saying goes….a company is only as great as its employees. Standard Heating, Cooling, & Plumbing has served Birmingham, AL, and surrounding areas for over 80 years. We owe much of our success to the wonderful people who have dedicated themselves to the company.
Bill Holder and Kim Merritt are two individuals who have significantly impacted the success at Standard and are certainly experts in the HVAC industry. We sat down with them to learn more about what they do, their experience with Standard, and more!
Our Conversation with Kim:
1. How long have you been at Standard?
16 great years!
2. What are your primary duties?
I manage the daily operation of the service department (HVAC & Plumbing)
3. What do you enjoy most about your job?
I like working with our team to help ensure they have the tools to succeed and deliver excellent service to our customers.
4. What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I enjoy traveling, doing estate sales, and planning events for my church, friends, and family.
Our Conversation with Bill:
1. How long have you worked at Standard
I have been at Standard for 42 ½ years.
2. What is your most notable accomplishment at Standard?
Working my way up from an Apprentice to Lead Install Tech, to Supervisor, to Comfort Specialist, to Sales/Install/Marketing Manager.
3. What do you plan to do in retirement?
My wife of 40 years and I live on Lake Logan Martin, and we love to fish, so there will be lots of fishing and traveling in our future. As well as just relaxing in our home with our two Basset Hounds and our kitties. I also hope to do some volunteer work around our hometown of Pell City.
